back in black

Obviously spring in Vermont never lasts. I swear it is winter until May. Wearing all black is my staple for cold, cloudy weather. It always seems to work.
sweater: free people
pants: h&m
shoes: aldo

I am wearing a little color though. Check out this new nail polish. It's called "mint candy apple" by essie.

pining away

I am swooning over these dresses on the newly discovered Eve Gravel shop. The shop is Canadian based and sells the most wonderful items. The dresses are all I ever wanted for spring (and all year long). And the model photos are gorgeous! Unfortunately, when I clicked on the link for sales I got this message: "There are no products matching the selection." Oh pretty dresses, how I pine for you! I guess I'll only be wearing these in my daydreams.

actually warm

Today it was actually warm. Warm enough to wear this dress without stockings. I am thrilled.

late for class

I borrowed this dress from my roommate. It is typical American Apparel, which means it is pretty comfortable and looks good. It's perfect for those mornings when I have to rush to my 8AM class.

a spring shirt

I got this shirt about two years ago at a thrift store. It is the perfect shirt for spring. Today was the first warm day since I've been back in Vermont. Spring is certainly on it's way.

some spring in my step

I always feel that my feet need an update when spring rolls around. It is not quite spring yet, but I start my shopping list early. On this year's list: the perfect pair of oxford shoes and an assortment of over the knee socks to pair them with. I'm still searching for the oxfords, but I have found some charming socks at sockdreams. Unfortunately most of my favorites are out of my price range. I just can't justify spending over $20 on a pair of socks, no matter how pretty they may be.

the first post

I am Jillian. I am from New Jersey. I am a student at a small university in Vermont.

I am passionate about fine arts, design, fashion, reading, and socializing.
As a student and a young woman, I am trying to find my way in the world. But I have yet to make it away from the East Coast.

I started this blog to document my journey through school and into the world. This is a forum for me to keep tabs on my adventures, whether they be adventures in education, arts, fashion, or travel.

So here's to adventures on the east coast and (hopefully) beyond.
